Design Services
After receiving my degree in Interior Design I decided to specialize in kitchen and bath design. In addition to kitchens and baths I also design other spaces such as mudrooms, laundry rooms, home offices, etc.
Recently I had the opportunity to design a pool house including the kitchen, bathroom, an indoor golf simulator, as well as selections of finishes for the complete interior and exterior of the pool house, pool, pool deck as well as all of the pool furniture.
The majority of my clients hire me to provide them with complete design services including: design with ½” scale drawings, materials selections, cost analysis, and project coordination; I am also available to consult on smaller projects such as new countertops, updating appliances, etc.
Whether you are remodeling or building a new home my design services are tailored to suit your needs.
As an independent designer – I do not work in a “Kitchen and Bath Showroom”. I feel this is an advantage as I am able to use my many years of experience to source the right product for your project. You may have a cabinet maker or contractor that you have worked with before. Because I am an independent designer I am able to work with whoever we want to put on your team!
Design Process
Our initial visit will be held at your home and is complimentary. This meeting will last approximately one hour. We will talk about your wants for the space and the scope of the project.
My fees are set in accordance with the size and complexity of your project.
Once we have agreed to a fee for your project I will email you a design agreement and a questioner to complete. The questioner is geared to help us work together; if we are working on a kitchen the questions may include: number of family members, who cooks, frequency of dinner parties, catered events, how often you shop, etc.
I will return to your home to take measurements, photographs, review your questioner, and more.
Next I will begin the design of your space. Often before pencil goes to paper we will shop for materials (appliances, plumbing fixtures, stone and tile finishes, etc.) so that I will be able to incorporate these into the preliminary conceptual drawings.
Conceptual drawings are presented for you to review. Revisions are made to the floor plans and elevations are drawn for presentation.
After the revised plans and elevations are approved we are ready to receive and review bids on the project.
Depending on the services select I may be on site with you throughout the remodel or building project to act as your advocate. Meeting with your contractor or builder…keeping an eye on all of the details to make sure that you are getting the details that we have specified.
My goal is work with you and your contractor /’builder to make this a pleasant process. Keeping you updated on details either by phone, email, or site visit so that you are able to continue with your life without wondering what is happening on site.
